Ángel Cabrera Pro Caddies and the Needy Foundation was created on April 17th, 2007 as a concern of its founder, Angel “Pato” Cabrera, for improving the quality of life of caddies, giving an opportunity to professional and/or amateur candidates without economic resources in the practice of this sport, and contributing to other social service institutions which seek a better quality of life for all members in society. The organization started its activities after its founder, Ángel Cabrera, made a first contribution of 200 thousand pesos, which were used to repair and remodel the Hospital Municipal de Villa Allende, Josefina Prieur (Villa Allende Municipal Hospital, Josefina Prieur). At the same time, Ángel Cabrera Foundation plans to generate further income through the organization of tournaments, sports events, and high level professional golfers’ exhibitions, among other activities. The collected money would then be assigned to social service work. In this way, the contributions will be donated to institutions, organizations, projects, or enterprises, which priority is the integral development of individuals and the main goal is always a healthier way of living. On the other hand, in the same way Cabrera was supported by some partners of the current Cordoba Golf Club during the first steps of his career, he now wants other sportspeople that dream of succeeding in the golf world to have the chance to show their skills. For that reason, the Foundation offers economic help to professional golfers and candidates, so that they are able to give their first steps in national and international tournaments, competing with sportspeople from all over the world.
